“My experience with GencityFit has far exceeded my expectations, and I’m not even close to being done! I wasn’t totally sure what personal training and nutrition coaching would be like virtually, but it’s worked wonderfully *chef’s kiss*
Growing up, I was always incredibly lean without trying. I was active and blessed with a fast metabolism. However, I noticed once I got into my 30s, it was easier to gain weight, and harder to lose it. Nothing crazy, but enough to make me not feel my best and for my clothes not to fit quite like they should.
Cue the fad diets! I did Whole30 several times, I tried Keto, Noom, etc. Ultimately, they worked in the moment, but weren’t at all sustainable. I would lose the weight, but then gain it all back (and then some). In the end, I wound up significantly under eating for a long time. Why did the 90’s teach us that women only need 1200 calories? That’s garbage.
I didn’t start with GencityFit as a large person, but I was the heaviest I had ever been and all of my clothes were ill-fitting. So I was surprised when I was told I needed to go on a “reverse diet” - I had no idea what that meant. Heidi is a phenomenal trainer and coach, and she explained everything so well. It was a big “aha!” moment to learn that *I’M* not the problem. Instead, the problem was that my body was not getting the calories it needed to function as it should, causing it to hold onto excess weight.
I’m still in the “reverse diet” phase of the program. I’m strength training 3 days a week, walking approx 5k steps a day (still healing from a recent foot surgery, so taking it easy), I’m eating over 300 extra calories a day from when I started (and that number is still rising!!). I’ve lost almost 10 pounds and several inches! My favorite jeans not only fit again, they’re a little loose! I feel stronger and I’m excited to see what happens after the reverse diet and I start the cut/fat loss part of the program. My new muscles are going to pop!!
Coach Heidi has provided me with amazing support. I’ve trusted the process from the start, which is key. The coaches know what they’re doing. It’s so individualized and they pay attention to what your body is doing to ensure the pace is set correctly. Communication is great; the app provided is easy to use, and the check-ins are so helpful. I send questions when they arise, and can always expect a timely reply.
This program has completely changed my mind about fitness, nutrition, and dieting. Throw everything you see online out the window. Do it the right way, even if it’s a slower process. It’s the sustainable way because fad diets are a joke. If you trust and learn the process, give your body what it needs, you will absolutely get the results. Truly 10/10.”

“This was my first time doing any kind of gym training. I had been to the gym a handful of times, mostly doing the elliptical and wandering around trying different weight machines. I finally decided to really get serious about it, but my life is so busy as a single mom that I knew I needed something really flexible. Gentry assured me that remote training would be effective and my trainer would come up with a good routine that would meet my needs. She assigned me to Tianna and I am so glad! “Hello, I have workout in the past in my 30s and 40s, and what worked for my body them has not worked for me in my 50s. I also have been on 15 pills a day after a heart attack in February 2022. Work life and home life have just been busy, and when I did try to carve out some time for myself to take better care of my self, there was no results. Which became very frustrating! I was fed up with the way I looked and felt and decided one night (11:30pm) to look up a personal trainer. I found three and reached out to all three. I have been working with Heidi on nutrition since the first week of August 2023 and have seen immediate results. I have been consistently losing weight week to week and I have done it all without feeling like I’m actually on a diet. “I’ve been working with Nicole for the last 4 months and have been blown away. I have always been very active and felt like I didn’t eat terribly. But my focus has always been on exercise and calorie intake, not really nutrition. I’ve done some food tracking (again, calorie focused) and had just started dabbling in macro counting after the birth of my third child. “I’ve had a fantastic experience with Gencityfit and especially my trainer Nicole. I’ve been active my whole life but as I approached 50, I was at odds with my body. A long series of injuries, accumulation of some bad habits (especially during COVID) and not necessarily understanding the nutritional needs of my body as I grew older left me frustrated. “Throughout the last six months, I have had the pleasure to work alongside Jessa to increase my calorie intake to improve my metabolism, increase my daily steps, and engage in strength building workouts. When I started to work with Jessa, I learned that I was only eating about 1,200 calories a day (I didn’t know this!) and that I had very little protein intake each day. I struggle a lot with trying new food and Jessa and I knew that it would be best for me to track my macros. I’ve been doing that and now I am almost at consuming 2,000 calories per day and getting the protein, carbs, and fats I was lacking. “This program and the coaching I’ve received thus far in my program has been, in the least, life changing. For over half of my life I’ve struggled with body image and self worth tied to my body. I’ve struggled through eating disorders, yo-yo dieting, binge eating, punishing myself with food (so much disordered eating) and a lot of confusion regarding what “health” and healthy eating actually looks like.
